Bringing the Bible to Public School Children – Legally!

Released Time Bible Education brings a lost ingredient to public schools:

Bible-Based Moral Training.

Surveys show that 65% to 75% of the children attending RTBE classes do not have a church home or any knowledge of the Bible. This program reaches them at their public school.

Parents must sign an enrollment form for their child to be able to leave the school site and come to the location set by Released Time Bible Education. It could be a nearby church, park or mobile classroom parked next to the school. State Education Code 46014 established in 1943, allows School District to allow RTBE classes to meet and an agreed upon time once a week during the school year.

In many cases, their families are also inspired by the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. The classes also enrich the lives of children who attend church, supporting the moral standards for these children as they cope with the many challenges and problems in our society.

Every year many Released Time Programs set aside time at the end of the year for students to write a letter to their teachers about what they learned and what they liked about Released Time Bible Education.

Letters Released Time students wrote to their teachers:

Jaime – 5th grade student...It means a lot to me to come to Released Time because we learn about the Lord. We read the Bible and sing songs about the Lord. It also means a lot to me because I don’t go to church but I really do like to learn about the Lord and want to. I couldn’t write what it all means to me on a piece of paper but I don’t have to because it’s all in my heart.

Anthony - 4th grade student...When it is Thursday, I look forward to coming to the trailer to learn about Jesus.  I like the songs and the other things that we learn and do.  When I am eighty years old I will still remember my time in Released Time Christian Education.  I’ve learned that Jesus loves me, He always keeps his promises, and the Ten Commandments. This is the only church that I go to. I really love the trailer and I want to learn as much as I can about Jesus.

Billy – 5th grade student...Released Time showed me Jesus is my Savior. I accepted Jesus in my heart and I’ll never let Him out.
